Seaweed Derivatives
Seaweeds are macroscopic, multicellular, marine algae coming under Rhodophyta (red), Chlorophyta (green) and Phaeophyta (brown). Seaweed extracts are rich in micro and macronutrients, polysaccharides, proteins, poly unsaturated fatty acids, polyphenols, phytohormones, vitamins, betaines, cytokinins, and osmolytes. Seaweeds are natural Biostimulants that can induce physiological / biochemical changes in plants which enhances nutrient uptake and growth of plants. It promotes early seed germination and establishment, overall plant growth and productivity, resistance against biotic and abiotic stresses and increased post-harvest shelf life. The Phycocolloids in seaweed improves soil structure, increases water retention and cation exchange capacity of soil.
